※本賞は、IEEE Robotics and Automation Societyに貢献した個人の
　卓越したリーダーシップと献身的な活動を表彰するものです。
　後にIEEE Robotics and Automation SocietyとなるIEEE Robotics
　and Automation Council の初代会長であり、本賞の候補者に求め
　られる特性を体現したGeorge Saridis教授に敬意を表して名づけられ
　ました。
