Report of the 7th Kisoi Motohiro Award Presenting Ceremony

We, International Rescue System Institute held the 8th Kisoi Motohiro Award Presenting Ceremony on 21th January 2012 in Kobe.

The winner of the academic achievement is Dr. Keiji Nagatani who is an associate professor of Tohoku University. And the winner of the technological achievement is Ya-Wen Huang who is a student of Tokyo Institute of Technology.
Dr. Nagatani won the award for his efforts, "Research on improving the performance of all-terrain mobile exploration robot for search and rescue". Dr. Huang won the award for her efforts, "Research and Development of Underwater Rescue Robot".
And we also honored "Quince Development Team" with the special award for a great deal to contribute on dealig with the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant by using robot technology through the restoration support activities in the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Dr.Nagatani and Dr. Huang were given the commendation certificate,extra prize JPY300,000. And they were memorial trophy given by the members of the selection committee. The trophies were produced by the Art Grass Club who have sympathy for this award.
And "Quince Development Team" was given the commendation certificate, extra prize JPY50,000, and a memorial plate.
And also, three winners of the award for encouragement were introduced.
Winners of academic and technological achievement, special prize deliverd lectures about subjects of their study or development.

All winners received generous applause from attendance with celebration and expection.
