"Robots and Systems for Disaster Response"

| 現代社会では，災害に対応する高度な技術が強く求められています．阪神淡路大震災やニューヨークのWTCビルの事件が引金になって，この分野の研究が活発になりつつあり，世界的に様々な研究開発が始まっています．例えば，日本では，2002年から文部科学省が大都市大震災軽減化特別プロジェクトを開始しました． このような背景で，私たちは10月末にラスベガスで開催される国際会議IROS2003において"Robots and Systems for Disaster Response"というセッションを企画することにしました．このセッションの目的は，社会的に重要なこの問題を解決するために，災害対応のための様々な技術やコンセプトを報告し議論することです． 関連する話題には以下のようなものが考えられますが，これに限定するわけではありません． * 探査救助用ロボット * 人体検索用センサ * 災害現場用移動機構 * 人体のハンドリング * 災害対応の情報システム * レスキューロボットの試験フィールド * 実時間センサフュージョン * 災害と救助のシミュレーション * 救助のための仮想現実感や人間-コンピュータ間のインタフェース * 災害や探索や救助のモデル化と標準 IROS2003(the 2003 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on IntelligentRobotics and Systems)は，10月27〜31日に米国のラスベガスで開かれます．会議の詳しい情報は，以下のWWWページをご覧ください． http://www.icra-iros.com/iros2003/ 論文提出: IROS 2003 の通常の論文と同じ電子投稿を使ってください．提出締切: 2003年3月3日（３月１４日に延期！） 注意事項: 論文のタイトルと著者を masutani@me.es.osaka-u.ac.jp 宛に2月28日（３月１１日に延期！）までにご連絡ください． この企画はInvited Sessionとして提案しますので，セッションに入る発表は通常の論文と同じ手続きで投稿され，査読を通過したものになります．従いまして，セッションの具体的な構成は査読の手続きが済んでから検討することになろうかともいます．ただし，セッションの提案の締切は投稿の締切を同じ日で，その段階でセッションの候補となる論文を提出しないといかませんので，あらかじめこのセッションに投稿していただける方の情報を収集する必要があります．そこで，このセッションで発表をしていただける方は，2月28日(金)までに，投稿される論文の「タイトル」と「著者」を masutani@me.es.osaka-u.ac.jp 宛にお知らせくださるようお願いいたします．また，実際に投稿されましたら， その際に発行されるpaper IDを直ちにご連絡ください． この案内を興味のありそうな方にも転送していただければ幸です． "Robots and Systems for Disaster Response" セッションオーガナイザ 升谷 保博 (大阪大学) 淺間 一 (東京大学) 田所 諭 (神戸大学) |

IROS2003 Invited Session "Robots and Systems for Disaster Response" Call for Papers October 27-31, 2003, Las Vegas Advanced disaster response technology is highly demanded by our society. Kobe Earthquake and the NY WTC incident activated this area as a trigger. Various research and development have started worldwide. In Japan, for example, The Special Project for Earthquake Disaster Mitigation in Urban Areas has started by MEXT. On the basis of this background, we would like to organize an invited session named "Robots and Systems for Disaster Response" in IROS2003. It is our great pleasure to invite you to submit papers for this session. The objective of the session is to report and discuss various technologies and concepts for disaster response to create effective solution for this socially important problem. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: * Search and rescue robots and systems * Sensors for victim search * Mobile mechanisms in disaster field * Human body handling * Information systems for disaster response * Test field for rescue robots * Realtime sensor fusion * Simulation of disaster and rescue * Virtual reality and human-computer interface for rescue * Modeling and standards for disaster, search and rescue IROS2003, the 2003 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, will be held on October 27-31, 2003, in Bally's Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A. Since papers for invited sessions are required to be reviewed as same as other papers, a concrete design of the session will be done after the review process. However, the deadline of proposal of invited session is also March 3. Thus, we have to collect information of candidate papers for this session. If you will contribute your paper for this session, please inform Dr. Masutani, Osaka Univ., masutani@me.es.osaka-u.ac.jp, the paper title and authors via email until Feb. 28, 2003. Then please send again your paper ID that will be given at the electronic submission as soon as possible after the submission.
